5 Tips to Sleigh Your Holiday Marketing Messaging

To help you spread more holiday marketing cheer this shopping season, we asked our Senior Marketing Strategist, Izzy Perez, for 5 quick tips for holiday messaging this year.

Here are her answers, which are sure to help you sleigh your marketing messaging this year.

1. Create a Sense of Urgency
Use phrases like “act today,” “limited time offer,” and “this week only,” to trigger a buying instinct in your customers. Urgency plays an important role in consumer behavior and encourages customers to make a purchase. Nobody wants to miss out on special offers or promotions.

2. Promote Exclusivity
Show love to your brand loyalists. Roll out early-access and special holiday sales for your most loyal customers. You can also spread the holiday cheer with extra reward points and promotions.

3. Utilize Personalization and Segmentation
You may want to send a standard offer to your entire list, but segmenting your list – based on product preferences; age or gender differences; or past purchase amounts – and sending a unique offer to each segment is shown to significantly improve conversion rates and overall campaign ROI.

4. Be Persistent (but don’t overdo it)
You’ll more than likely want to ramp up your email send frequency but make sure it doesn’t vary too much from your normal cadence to avoid turning off your customers.

5. Clear Calls to Action
During this time of year, you and your customer are both busy. Having a clear call-to-action (CTA) directing consumers right to a purchase page will speed up their holiday shopping. If it benefits them, it benefits your business.
